A story about Shania Twain
I was still studying at Timmins High & Vocational School when Shania’s music career started to sky rocket. The whole town was on a buzz because Shania was visiting the city to participate in its dedication of its busiest street into “Shania Twain Way”.
My classroom has a large glass window and suddenly the hallway was buzzing with noise. A beautiful lady walked through that hallway in (what I remember) a totally pink ensemble. I think they were like an athletic outfit that you’d wear on your way to the gym.
She was shorter than I imagined but simply gorgeous. Nobody that I’ve come across in my lifetime has not agreeded about Shania’s beauty.
I found out that she was trying to visit an old teacher at TH&VS (Mr. Browsowski). I didn’t attend the dedication ceremony (which was played numerous times on TV archive photage) or the concert that she held at the Archie Dhillon Sportsplex. But I will always remember that vision of loveliness walking down the hall in pink!
