Hi Elizabeth. My family is certainly German, but I don’t know much about our history. Now you have me curious, though. :)
Our branch of the clan did an in depth search a few years back and found us to be VOLGA - GERMANS. Look that up on GOOGLE and you will find out where the Deobald clan is from. Of course, before that they were from Germany and a search at the LDS church genealogical library online will turn up Deobalds going back to early 1700’s….before that we were DeObaldia….Hugenots from France, kicked out in the 1500’s for being Prtotestant Anabaptists in a Catholic country. Isn’t that amazing stuff?
