the end of december . there’s a reunion, of sorts .

I didn't do the reunion when they had ours last year
because I was getting married the next week. I don’t think I missed much – overpriced appetizers and seeing a bunch of people that I didn’t recognize. Most of the people I wanted to see were on the ‘could not find’ list that they passed out to everyone. :(

oh, not that kind of reunion . some friends of mine are playing their final show after being together for over ten years, and a bunch of us are going to reunite and see how we’ve grown, apart from one another . these were the only ” classmates ” that i cared about/really got to know in high school and in college .
i know i’ve changed a lot; i’m hoping everyone else hasn’t changed as much as i have .

You know sometimes change is a really really good thing. I have changed a lot since high school, but my old high school friends like me more, not less, because of it. (so they say)

with a wry smile, i tell you that i used to be different . i didn’t get a sex change or anything, perhaps working for public safety has taken the kinder edges off of me .
i was a lot more innocent living in charleston . i don’t think it had everything to do with the city, just the people i surrounded myself with when i was younger .

because I am so much more innocent now than I ever was then… I was a very bad girl in high school… I have calmed down A LOT.
