A story about Janeane Garofalo
First of all, I love her. She is the funniest, smartest woman that I can say I’ve had the pleasure to meet. I’ve kept a close eye on her (through movies and tv) for years. Then I moved to NY in 2000. It turned out that she lived about 2 blocks away. I would pass her on the street, but I never wanted to bother her while she was out and look like a crazy fan. One night I went to a bar to check out a friend’s band. She was there to see another band play. I saw her standing 6 inches away, and I had to meet her. So, I became super stalker…telling her just how much I love her, how intelligent and amazing I think she is, and telling her that I have seen her on the street with her dogs so many times…and I have a dog…and maybe they can play together…and oh my gosh I love you…..I went on and on. She was so nice about it. She reminded me that I hadn’t told her my name. She talked to me for a few minutes, and then went on to watch the band. It was pretty amazing, and it totally made my night!
