Do you eat pasties? Used to get them up on the border. I thought they were trying to serve me those little discs that they use to cover stripper nipples. Apparently it’s a beef stew in a hot pocket or something.

I knew pasties as the same thing you did. I’ve heard of it before, I think it’s from the UK, though. But we have a lot of folks up here from a cross the pond, so it’s quite likely.
The area I’m from has a lot of English/Irish/Scottish settlers, and we’re known for our slightly different accent. Usually, I find my accent minimal, but yesterday someone asked me if I was from Ireland, and didn’t quite believe me when I told her my only home was here in Ontario.

people ask me all the time where my accent comes from. Always strikes me as funny, cause I think they are the ones with accents. I can’t tell that I have one at all. I sound like the people on the news. Bland. But I could have a career in radio. I definitely have the face for it. Ha!
