I am wondering, (without tying to be combative, I am truly curious) if you have considered the possibility that the President (any President, but particularly this one) if fully aware of the “negatives” or costs associated with each of his preferred policies, but, he had judged that the difference between what is gained and what it costs is greater by persuing these policies than those available from any other option?

Is that possible?
