Joss Whedon is a great writer. When Buffy the Vampire Slayer was on, it was one of the best programs on television. I believe during Season Five it was the best.
He also created Angel and Firefly, both great programs. I can’t believe Firefly only lasted one season. Leave it to FOX to kill a promising program.
He also worked on Speed, a great movie.
Joss Whedon inspired me to write. I liked what he was doing with Buffy so much, it motivated me create write my own stuff.
I use Wheadon’s style when writing scripts (tight with actor notes). God, that style makes the pages read fast and come alive.
My Buffy spec script made the first cut (top 25) for the Disney Intern Program.
Anyone wanting to write should look at his scripts.
