I fell in love with The Dream Songs almost three years ago, and I fell so hard for them that I went out and bought a new purse because the book didn’t fit in the one I already had. Within two months the book looked like I’d owned it for ten years. Some of them I’ve read so many times I’ve inadvertently memorized them. It’s the only book I’d ever think about reading in a bar. It’s the only book I read when I’ve had a horrible day. It’s the only book I can come back to again and again, for any emotion, for any time.
