Each year, PNC Bank in Delaware hosts the Common Wealth Award Ceremony. The Common Wealth Awards are given to recognize outstanding achievement in 8 disciplines (dramatic arts, literature, science, invention, mass communications, public service, government, and sociology). This year, one of the four awardees was Ann Curry.

Since 2000, PNC Bank has run a writing contest for Delaware high school students. The winners of this contest (there are usually 3 or 4) are invited to meet the awardees, as well as attend a press conference, cocktail hour, dinner, and award ceremony at the Hotel DuPont.

I was one of the winners, so I got to meet her! It was incredible!
