David Patrick Reed

Computer scientist, networking and cybernetics guru involved in the early development of TCP/IP and UDP, the basic carriers of both local networks and the internet

Reed is also famous for his theorem on the cybernetics of large networks, such as social networks could be considered, named Reeds’s law, which states that the utility of such networks grows exponentially in proportion to internal connections and size.

Dr. Reed is an Adjunct Professor at the MIT Media Lab.
