A story about anne richards
But she’s dead, so I can’t.
former governor of the great state of Texas, a general baddass who intimidated Letterman many years ago
When i heard of her death today, i was reminded of how much i always admired this witty, outspoken, maverick politician. Texans were fools to ever vote her out of the Governorship…
She’s one politician i’d always hoped would make it to the White House, as opposed to our current village idiot…
I will mourn the loss of this truly great lady
I got to meet Ann Richards at Laguna Gloria, an art museum in Austin. She was giving a talk on Christo, that artist that loves to cover things in Fabric.
I actually got to meet Governor Richards twice while in Austin. Once at a pro-choice rally on the steps of the capital and once after her governorship when she was a keynote speaker for a conference I was attending.
She is probably the best speaker I have ever had the privelege to hear. Funny, literate, intelligent, well-spoken, and just downright honest.
I wish she was still our Governor. Hell, I wish she was our President.
