I met West in San Franciso back in around 1990/91 at a Democratic Socialist meeting where Manning Marable was giving a fiery speech. West wasn’t as well groomed back then as he is now, but it was cool chatting with briefly about Christianity even though at the time I didn’t know he was a believer. I’ve also seen him in the book stores here in Sacramento a few times. His family lives here in Sacramento. It would good to take a few classes from him.

I have only have brief interaction with him personally, but Dr. West had a profound effect on me each time. His wisdom has supported me in the struggle for justice. I look forward to even more creativity and wisdom from him in the years to come.
