Gregory Maguire (placeholder)

I love his books. I don’t read anymore and reading his books made me feel full of hope again that my imagination wasn’t completely dead.
I first started reading Wicked last fall. I looked forward to reading a chapter everyday and carved out time to do it between work and school. When I neared the end I couldn’t finish because …I didn’t want it to end. Reading that book was my favorite escape! My daughter asked to have the copy to take back to FL and read and that is when I finaly forced myself (at Christmas) to read the last few pages. I felt this terrible sinking feeling as I sat on the sofa and turned the very last page. Wicked was over and I didn’t have the $$ to buy Son of a Witch.
I received the sequelk this spring and dole out a scrap of time now and then to sink back into OZ.
I would love to meet Mr. Maguire just to tell him I think he found his spirit and his books have not only given me great pleasure to read but opened up a new hobby of looking up the words he uses and finding new ones to enrich my vocabulary…its a fun lunch time game for my husband and me!

I went to a reading at a local bookstore. He read for 20 minutes (from “Wicked” and its sequel, “Son of a Witch”), answered questions, and signed a lot of books, including the three copies we got of his new book. He seemed like a very smart, funny and nice guy.

I heart his books. I think he is my favorite author…currently anyways.
