Because all he is hilarious. Not many people I have talked to understand that many of his beautiful lyrics are simply humorous. I adore how he is seen as this “emo” character, when he isn’t just sad and depressed all the time, but comical as well. His humor is twisted at times, but mine is as well.

Admire for amazing poetic sharp witty honest lyrics.

Appreciate for “First Day of My Life” which was playing in the background at the restaurant when I asked her to marry me. trite? no… just the mark of a great song that touches a deep universal experience…

It scares me how honest he is.

His music is also the only thing
that really helps me sleep at night.

Last night (September 16, 2007) I went to the Bright Eyes show in Olympia, WA at the Captiol Theater.

After the show, my friends and I headed for this bar called the Brotherhood for a drink.

About ten minutes after we sat down, Conor and his entourage arrived. My friend and I said hello to him when he was at the ATM.

He is super nice, and Mike is also super nice.

At last call, my friends and I ended up walking drunken Conor and very drunken Mike and others back to their tour bus. With an “I love you guys” from Conor we parted ways.

I’m seeing them next weekend at Seattle’s EndFest and I’m super excited.

i admire him for his honesty and sincerity and for his beautiful beautiful lyrics that breathe so much emotion i wish i could have an ounce of his talent

i met this beautiful creature a few years ago.

He’s grown so much as an artist. In a magazine article hes said he’s through writing depressing music for teenage girls and that i know lost some fans, but it gained so much of my respect. from way back to letting off the happiness to cassadaga, i have always and will always love his music. im not looking to meet him casue hes cute like everyother girl here, i want to meet him to show my appreciation for his work. HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND MARIA TAYLOR (from azure ray), just so you know.

i’d just want to tell him something that has been on my heart ever since i started listening to bright eyes. it’s been 4 years. most likely that day will never come, but who knows.

I worked at the WOW Hall in Eugene, OR when Bright Eyes toured there. Showing up early, I walked right between him and the keyboardist he was speaking to. He smiled big at me even though I was being rude and called me back over. But instead I instantly asked him if he was one of the volunteers and he said that no, he was in the band. So I turned around and walked off, in a hurry.
When I slowed down and realized how rude I was being I walked up and asked him which band he was in and started talking to him. He was real nice and I told him that if he needed anything I didn’t go on shift for a while and I would be happy to help. I had to ask him his name several times and his band name because I was very distracted but he seemed to think it all was funny.
Finally they did sound check and we waved to each other while he was onstage. It wasn’t until he started singing that I realized how cute he was. I was really attracted to his voice and lyrics. At one point during soundcheck his drummer comes up to me looking for some pot thinking I could provide. I told him I had none but I would get someone to drive him back to his hotel to get his own. Since Conor told me they weren’t going on for several hours I felt this was no problem. Oops. I didn’t realize they were the headliner and had to complete sound check before any of the other bands could go on. Later I find Coner looking for his drummer and had to tell him what I did. >_<
I felt like an ass.
They ended up being late and I had to guard the doors to make sure the audience didn’t shove their way past and inside before Bright Eyes were ready. It was like an advancing emo army.
I never got to see them preform either. I went home early.
