Why I admire Harper Lee
She only published one novel and it won the PULITZER PRIZE! I admire her so much both for her tremendous talent and for the way she is able to stay out of the limelight…

My favourite novel in the whole world in “To Kill a Mockingbird”. I was introduced to it around 2 years ago when my English teacher decided it should be the novel we study for G.C.S.E. Since then I have re-read it lots of times & I always discover new meanings & aspects to the book. I believe that if everyone in the world read this book they would view their world & the people within it in a completely different way & perhaps the world would be a happier place.
Because she does exactly what she wants to do, no more, no less. She realizes that she is not obligated to appear for her fans just because they want her to. What I would most like to do is meet her and have a nice long conversation, then learn later who I had been talking to.
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Alabama, and one of the only regular official public appearances Ms. Lee makes is to a scholarship luncheon in her honor. The University sponsors an essay contest inviting the high school student of the state to write a critical essay about “To Kill A Mockingbird.” The winner and two honorable mentions are honored at a reception that Ms. Lee attends. At the event, she gives the students a certificate. Afterward, she heads over to Gorgas Library (our main library) or the WS Hoole Special Collections to sign autographs.
So far, I have been too chicken to actually go; what do you say to your literary idol?

To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic novel! I enjoyed every minute reading the book and discussing it when I was in junior high school.
