I saw the Pixies in Milwaukee and Kim went through at least half a pack of cigarettes on stage and would spit them out into the crowd when she had to do vocals.

She got me and my girlfriend at the time very stoned and she ran around drinking while I sat and tried to come to terms with the fact that I was hanging out with KIM DEAL. How I met Kim Deal
I met Kim backstage at the Congress theatre in Chicago. It was at a fugazi/Ex/Shellac show, and she was excited at seeing Shellac because she had only seen Rapeman.
The Breeders were in town recording their last album.
She was disarmingly affable and really friendly with people that were complete strangers.
