Tom Robbins has changed my life. His books have played a big role in forming the person I am today.
I’ve met him twice. The first time, at a conference on Language and Ethnobotany, on Maui in which he was the co-speaker with Terrence McKenna. He did a writing workshop which I attended and still mildly berate myself for the mediocre writing I produced, that he read in front of the workshop. Ants!!! Don’t sleep!!!
The second time I met him at a book signing at Bookshop Santa Cruz. We told him how we shared reverence for the 23 and he signed our poster with a big 23.
i love to read his books.
he is one of the few authors that can make me laugh out loud.
he is one of my favorite authors. he is one of the few writers that can make me laugh out loud with his words. i’d love to just sit and have a beer with him sometime.

I met Mr. Robbins at an Empty Space fundraiser, about, oh god, like 7 years ago. He was very kind, and really entertained the crowd of patrons there. Cool guy.
Out of all living authors, I’m most enamored with Robbins. I first read Even Cowgirls because I found a copy of it on a bus seat in Massachusetts.
I’ve been hooked ever since.
