I emailed her after I read an advanced-reading copy of tithe that I got from a library. we chattted a little, and I got her to give me an interview for a school project. I haven’t talked to her in quite a while, but she did know who I was when I met her in person at a book signing at an ALA convention. She was always very nice and humble.

How I met Holly Black

Okay, so, Holly Black has an account on LiveJournal, which I found shortly after reading her book Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale. She posted about a series of book signings she was doing, and the closest one was over four hours away.
... but Mom took me anyway.
After the book signing, my mom & I ran into Holly (and her husband, Theo) looking for a place to eat. So, miracle of miracles, Mom & I had dinner with her & Theo.
It was amazing.
