Why I want to meet Violet Blue

I own what I like to call a high-end adult novelty boutique (aka sex shop) in a small town (1500 peeps) somewhere between Vancouver and Whistler. Violet Blue has been somebody I’ve admired from the early stages of running my business as someone who not only embraces sex positive culture, but also plays an exciting hand in leading the charge.
I’ve just launched my website recently, and am in the process of transforming my luddite self into a web guy, which is another reason she rocks they party that rocked the house. That girl has this medium styled and dialed. So kudos to you Violet for being an inspiration, and a leader, and if you’re ever on your way to Whistler for a vacation, or checking out the Vancouver kink scene make a little side trip to Trinity Romance Shop (tireless self promotion) in little old Squamish and we’ll be sure to have a glass of wine on hand for you.

How I met Violet Blue

I got invited to the Porn Palace by way of three cool girls, one of whom I’d met only the night before. She’s the one who got us in, who’d actually been there before and done things which shall remain innuendo.

We go in to the main room and there’s Violet Blue bangs and all. Just chillin with peeps, who happened to be Xeni Jardin of Boingboing. They’d just got done taking some pictures. Just like it’s their hangout spot. She’s pretty much permanently invited.

It was real fast: “Hi, I’m Orin” “Hey, I’m Violet, nice to meet you. Alright, we really have to get to X because we’re doing Y. Z you later!” She’s a busy woman. Someday maybe I’ll get a proper introduction. Maybe raid a catering tray together. Until then, it’s nice to finally meet someone who was internet famous once. Yes—that was on a t-shirt.
