Why I want to meet Sandra Oh
I’ve admired her for a long time. I think I first really learned her name because of a short film, “Barrier Device,” she did in which she played a woman conducting birth control research who realizes that one of her subjects is involved with Oh’s ex-boyfriend. (It only gets 2 points on IMDB, but I really liked it.)
I don’t always want to meet actors. I’d rather think of their characters than themselves. But Sandra Oh brings such an amazing range of toughness and vulnerability to difficult roles… Seems like she must be able to think around corners and see things from various perspectives because she seems to have done that in creating characters like Cristina Young on Grey’s Anatomy. Made me cry again last night!
I dunno, I’d like to have dinner with her and her husband, director Alexander Payne.
