I met Dave Winer in London very briefly this month. He was in town for a few days before going to LeWeb3.

I attended the first BloggerCon at Harvard for free thanks to Dave. I subsequently met him at one or two other Harvard events. He read my blog back when I started and was writing using a Userland server, and I’m grateful to him for creating Manila (my blogging platform) and RSS and for giving me a start.
I met the blogfather at the Triangle Blogger Conference in Chapel Hill. We talked about DaveNet and the early WWW, while having donuts and java.
I found him very pleasant, and hope he comes back to blogging…

Dave is an innovator. He’s a visionary. He’s a scripter and I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Dave Winer several times.
I’ve know Dave online since maybe 1994 or so, but I’ve only met him in person once, at Seybold in 2000…
