Why I want to meet Isaac Asimov
I used to love reading his books as a kid.
My favourite story is definitely “The Last Question”. Absolutely superb, I’d recommend it (it’s only a short story, so well worth checking out).
Writer, novelist, scientific… his sci-fi book are famous nowadays

For his passion and drive:
“I write for the same reason I breathe – because if I didn’t, I would die.”
What I always thought was great about Isacc Asimov was the fact he was not only a writer but a professor as well. I thought his genuine interest science and the unverse around him.
Not the best in the world at characterization. His plot-lines are a bit thin or wobbly from time to time. His subject-matter sometimes dry. What is it about him then that his style should hypnotize me to the point where I can Not put down whatever book of his that I pick up until it’s finished? His style seems so simple and pure, and truth to tell I’ve never been in any way disappointed in any of his works regardless of the opinions stated earlier. The man is, in my opinion, easily one of the foremost staples of science fiction; though, in truth, he had dabbled in so much more. He stands squarely in the peerage of Harlan Ellison, Ray Bradbury and PKD - the four cornerstones of science fiction in my mind.
His books looked to the future, what would become, how we as humans would relate and what about Robots, can we live with them, are we scared of them, do we love them? Do Robots love us?
He wrote to make me think.
I crashed headlong into him while at a sci-fi/gaming convention in Baltimore in 1987. Almost knocked him to the floor. I apologized, and he was very polite to me, but I still feel bad about it.
is there a better science fiction writer?
is there a better science fiction book (foundation)?
When I interviewed him on the radio back in the ‘80s, he told me that it wasn’t until he had been writing for twenty years that he really felt it was safe to depend on writing alone as a livelihood.
