A story about Rufus Wainwright
I kind of met him once, but I felt like he kinda blew me off, lol. I need to try again.

I kind of met him once, but I felt like he kinda blew me off, lol. I need to try again.
I finally got to meet the wonderful Rufus Wainwright on August 27. He is probably one of the sweetest people ever! He was very happy to take a picture, as well. :) I love Rufus!!
My wife and I got to meet Rufus after a concert in Ohio. My wife clammed up, but I suddenly became quite gregarious and got a hug.
I ran into Rufus on 59th Street in NYC about five years ago. I was so nervous but I had to speak to him! I probably made an ass of myself but I am glad I was able to tell him how much I appreciate his music and to shake his hand. I saw him perform that night at Carnegie Hall and he blew my mind. Since then, I have seen him perform a handful of times, and he is still as amazing as ever…
i got to listen to him play at a westwood borders and he was so good! i had to leave before the signings and meet and greet so i havent ever “met” him yet but i would just be content for the rest of my life if i could just look him in the eye and tell him how much he means to me. Rufus is my desert island top musician. <3
I probably wouldn’t even know what to say to him. He’s a brilliant musician, lyricist, and personality. I’ve written scads of scenes to his songs—I suppose I’d start by thanking him. He’s such a conversationalist as well…judging by his live persona. One of the few people I will never tire of seeing in concert.
I’ve seen him live three times and he’s just unique—the first rock star who brings opera into a concert. The man can write lyrics better than most of today’s composers. “I Don’t Know What it Is” is one of the best pop melodies ever and it’s rich and lush with layers of sound that, to this day, I still get lost in. Rufus just exudes warmth and charm. Just one of my heroes!
