A story about Eric Idle
Eric has been an outstanding contributor to dry humour. It would be an interesting lunch to sit through.
Founding member of Monty Python, star of The Rutles (the legend that will last a lunchtime) and more recently, creator of Spamalot on Broadway.

I admire him, as I respect gifted people. I can quote the words of John Mason – You were born an original. Don’t die a copy. Eric Idle was born an original and will die the same.
I met him at a CD signing at a Virgin Megastore in Hollywood (the one near Laurel Canyon) a couple years ago. I remember asking him something about whether anyone’d done anything crazy (like dressing up like a chicken or whatever) when meeting him. The answer was “no”, but he said I was the first to ask.
When he came to San Fran, we were on line all day for tickets. I was in the first 20 people in line.
He actually came out there, about 4 hours before the show, and shook all our hands, every last one of us—down the line.
Amazing guy.
I want to know who came up with the “a fishy fishy fishy ooooo” thing. That’s sooooo out there.
