I know it is lame and doesn’t really count, but his people bought drinks from us for “Willie and his people”. haha cheap story I know. :)
I guess it’s just in abstract because I don’t want to be around any of that celebrity crap. After reading The Tao of Willie, he just seemed like someone that would be good company, pick a little, shoot the breeze, talk about why everyone just doesn’t seem to “get it”.
I met in March 28, 2007 at the RFDTV Theater in Branson, Missouri. I was there for FFA to film some stuff for FFA Today, a monthly special on RFDTV.

Willie has played at about 5 night clubs owned by my late grandfather and family. Apparently when I was a child, I spent some time in his dressing room, so I’d like to meet him for real.
Willie Nelson played Santa Claus in my son’s Christmas play about a Vietnam Vet. He sang “Pretty Paper” and mingled with the school’s families afterward. My son, who was about 5 then, nervous and shy, walked up to Willie and said “Willie, would you like my autograph?”
He was so embarrassed, but Willie in good nature said, “I’ll trade you yours for mine” so they autographed napkins and exchanged. I was most amazed in his presence by his ancient eyes. He is truly a special person.
