How I met Bela Fleck
I met Béla at the Lincoln Center screening of his brother’s documentary, Obstinato: Making Music for Two. Being a film major at NYU, I tried to ask more technical questions of his brother, as the entire audience was only asking Béla questions and I felt that, as it was Sascha’s film, the director should be asked a few questions about MAKING the film.
Afterwards, I didn’t want to bother Béla, but my BF at the time grabbed my ticket stub and asked him to sign it for me. Béla came over and signed it, and we chatted for a few minutes.
I still have the ticket stub in my wallet. :-)
