Chris Carrabba (placeholder)

Chris Ender Carrabba is the lead singer and guitarist of Dashboard Confessional. He is from Boca Raton, Florida.

Carrabba recieved his first guitar from his uncle at age 15, but didn’t start playing until a few years later.. Carrabba’s professional career started with a small band called the Vacant Andys on Fiddler Records, a small independant record label. He had a short stint with another band called The Agency before moving on to record The Moon Is Down with Further Seems Forever. While with FSF, he started Dashboard Confessional as a small solo side project. He said that, even though he was a solo artist, he performed as Dashboard Confessional, a group name, so the crowd would be encouraged to participate.

After recording The Moon Is Down, the success of Dashboard continued to climb, he left FSF, and started promoting his work as Dashboard Confessional.

How I met Chris Carrabba

I had met him before at the nme signing tent at reading festival however my sister and I went to see a dashboard confessional solo acoustic gig in oxford over the easter holidays. not only did we meet chris on his way into the venue (and i managed to say words this time), and managed to get a photo with him, somehow we found ourselves backstage at the end of the gig, where we had a chat with chris and got autographs. He is so nice, so funny and so down to earth. Best night ever

A story about Chris Carrabba

I used to promote for a concert venue in town. So I met the guy at my best friends house. Members of Further Seems Forever, Legends of Rodeo and Radiodriver were playing frisbee in the front yard and waiting their turn to shower. I remember five main things about Chris:
1—He subscribes to Maxim.
2—He really likes to go clubbing.
3—He’s not that great at frisbee.
4—He is the least social person in the band.
5—He was not the most interesting conversationalist in the place at that moment. By far. Then again, I guess he’s paid to sing. ;)

A story about Chris Carrabba

I saw Dashboard Confessional live just after the release of a Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar at Merriwether Post Pavilion. My friend and I had tickets for seats up in the nosebleed section, but the ticket person for our section told us to run down to the gate just before the band started to play. We ended up right in the front, and the experience was absolutely amazing. I could have sworn Chris made eye contact with me a few times, and actually winked!

How I met Chris Carrabba

I met Chris @ Cornersone Festival in 1999. At the time, I had my first exposure to Further Seems Forever, and Chris was an unassuming lead singer of a small, upcoming emo band. I remember him being very friendly, as we discussed his career, his day job, and a band one of his friends was in.
