A story about Craig Newmark
A very genuine individual who cares much more deeply about what he does than just making money. You can never get him to say anything bad about anyone ! One of a kind – great guy.

craigslist is amazing: it helped me meet a friend, get a date, sell my ipod, buy some boots and a mirror.
and the guy i went out with said he was friends with craig, which was probably just a line.
I saw Craig speak at SXSWi 2006. Inspirational is probably an overused word, but he was inspirational in the true sense.
I want to meet Craig because of all that Craigslist has done to better the Internet…how it puts all variety of things accessible in one place on the internet. Jobs, houses/apts, cars/trucks, furnitures, personal ads, you name it!
I very briefly met Craig at the bay area blogger meet-up hosted by KRON News. I also had a chance to converse with him via e-mail about the non-profit I’m trying to develop, the Rise Up Network.
Craig’s a cool guy, and as Josh Peterson points out above, he maay have “saved the internet from itself.”
I think Craig might have saved the internet from itself. He is inspiring in the way he puts people first, works for the long term, and knows what he wants to do. And I love his slogan: “Give people a break”.
