Why I want to meet Tad Williams
One of my favorite authors!
Robert Paul “Tad” Williams (born March 14, 1957) is the author of several fantasy and science fiction novels, including Tailchaser’s Song; the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series; the Otherland series and The War of the Flowers.
Williams is currently writing the Shadowmarch series, the first volume of which was published in November, 2004. He plans a return to the world of Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn in A Chronicle of Stone, though this project has been considerably delayed due to other writing commitments.

I was a Chicago bookseller in the 90s and was lucky enough to be on desk when Tad walked in soon after the release of To Green Angel Tower. I showed him around the store a bit and told him how much I loved his work. He was very nice and thanked me for making him feel so welcome. He signed a copy of Green Angel for me and I said happily, “Now I have to get the other two in hardcover!” Which I did.
Tad lives in one of the neighboring towns.
At ConJose (the 2002 World Science Fiction Convention), Tad was on a panel with L.E. Modesitt.
Lee says, “I’ve got two fans—”
Tad quips, “Why Lee, I’m sure you’ve got at least twice that.”
