i wanted to see fIREHOSE but they were playing a private show at a college. I saw Mike and Kira sitting outside, asked if I could get on the list and they said hell yes. Kira and I both had black cons on. I took Ed fromohio to get coffee.
My friend and I met Watt in Tulsa in 1991 before a show there. He was awesome. He let us sit with him and write the set list. We got to hear all our favorite songs.
The next night he met us in Dallas at Flamingo Joe’s before their show at Trees with Run Westy Run and Five-Eight. It was great. Chile Rellenos and lots of ice tea. I’ve never seen anyone drink ice tea so fast.

Hung out with Watt at Sluggo’s Pizza at Porter College, UCSC before a fIREHOSE show back in 1989. One of the most down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet. Just a genuinely friendly, interesting (and interested) guy.
Oh, and probably the greatest living bass player.
Met him at Reed College, where he played a show. He had hundreds of photos on his digicam of that tour. Friendly guy, and not too shabby a bass player either!
