A story about Larry Bird
My husband made me a Celtics fan early in our marriage (1971). I followed them all through Larry’s career and a bit beyond. My Lee was a high school coach, and he admired Larry for his undeniable skills, his unselfishness, and his work ethic. He used to say Bird made more of what talent he possessed, than any two other “superstars” in the game. Lee never got a chance to meet him, but I would like someday to tell him how much joy his presence in the game brought my husband.
