Why I want to meet Kate Mulgrew

I want to meet Kate Mulgrew because she has given me strength during a hard time in my life. Firstly through her support of Alzheimers, which my mother suffers from and secondly through her portrayal of Captain Janeway in Voyager, from whom I learnt to be strong and always hold on to my beliefs. As to her support for Alzheimers; it has helped me see that I’m not alone in this situation and that I can be strong about it, just like she is. I want to meet this wonderful woman who has stopped me giving in so many times so that I can thank her and show her how much she can affect people’s lives.

Why I want to meet Kate Mulgrew

She was my hero growing up. I was a faithful fan of “Voyager” for years as a kid, and it was awesome seeing such a strong woman kick some a** on TV every week.:) If I ever met her, I’d thank her for playing Captain Janeway with the strength that she did while retaining so many feminine qualities. I think she broke a lot of molds.

How I met Kate Mulgrew

I saw Kate Mulgrew play Kate Hepburn in TEA AT FIVE in Manhattan in May of 2003. It was quite a treat since I am a HUGE Hepburn fan as well as admiring Mulgrew’s talents. She was spectacular. We waited for her at the stage door to get our playbills signed and she was lovely, gracious—and tiny! Above pic is Mulgrew in Act II as the older Kate.

Why I admire Kate Mulgrew

I loved her on Star Trek Voyager. Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate) and B’Elanna Torres (Roxann Dawson) were my favorites. I’d love to meet her and get her autograph. I actually just found out she’s in the play Tea @ Five. I’ve never seen a play before, but I would LOVE to see that one :) ~ I love her involvement with the Alzheimer’s Association. She is their spokesperson and a committed fundraiser.
