A story about The Autumns
I have been their biggest fan since 1998. And they would probably be the first to tell you that. There has never been another band that I’ve been fanatic to the levels I have had for them. Even to levels of embarrasment.
Thankfully, they are gracious about it, and I’ve been told how much they appreciate me.
I worked with guitarist Ken Tighe before he was in the lineup. Cool guy.
From time to time, I would shoot the shit with Matthew Kelly and Steve Elkins. Elkins shared some of the deepest conversations with me. Always filled with stories. And there was not one member of the band that I did not like.
Their music represents mile markers in my life. They are all wonderful human beings, and have created some of the most beautiful music I’ve ever heard.
Though they remain a cult favorite, it’s been a thrill watching them slowly make tracks on up to being signed to Bella Union. I’ll always be their biggest fan, if at the least, in spirit.
And they know.
