American singer and actor – met Paul Simon in the sixth grade, performing together as Tom & Jerry in the late 1950’s. Garfunkel attended Columbia University in the early sixties, where he sang with the Kingsmen. In 1963, Simon and Garfunkel reformed the duo under their own names.
