He got it right, without even knowing the mechanism. Now thanks to DNA we have a much better idea of how and why evolution works, we can watch it happening in the lab, and even direct it ourselves.

his famed journey to south america was aboard a ship that was not going to observe the natural world of the south but it was really destined to kidnap 4 natives and try to force them to assimilate to western culture. Not to mention the demeaning names the people were given, like Button and Bucket
