How I met Michael Jeffrey Jordan
I first met Michael Jordan at an autograph session at a car dealership back when he was pretty much a rookie. He sat between Lee Smith from the Cubs and Dan Hampton of the Bears…
Considered by many to be the greatest basketball player ever, M.J. was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 17, 1963. His 15 NBA seasons ended with a career scoring average of 30.12 points per game, the highest in history. He won six NBA finals MVP awards while playing for the Chicago Bulls. Sports Illustrated named him “Sportsman of the Year” in 1991. ESPN tagged him the greatest athlete of the 20th Century in 1999.

Well, other than giving him a wedgy in his Hanes, I’d love to just shoot some hoops and share some laughs. After he left NBA, so did I (watching that is). I treasure my poster of him in his Hanes underware.
it was halloween,
1995.
i was supposed to go to a phish show with my friends that night, it was a tuesday.
but my parents said no
cause the SATs were sat.
so instead my friend meghan and i hopped in the car and somehow we had like a scottie pippen jersey or something
anyway we went first to scottie’s house
then to MJ’s .
there were a few security guards outside the gate
with the huge 23
they ushered us in tho-
2 16year old girls
we had nothing to lose
and they were letting us in.
so we drove through
and up to the house
and sure enough,
there he was-
i couldnt take my eyes off him,
tears fell
he played with us
-teased me for wearing scotties jersey
how could i tell him
i wasnt worthy of wearing JORDAN 23 ?
didnt matter
we locked eyes
this god of sorts
he truly is
someone
above all this crap
above it all
xo
bless him
for pursuing excellence
all those days
all those hours
all those years
through all those flashbulbs
and pushy questions
and stares
he maintained focus
on excellence
brilliance
god bless
god bless
He’s pretty much the greatest basketball player ever, and he was my dad’s favorite player too. Watching him play on the Bulls and hearing about him from my dad is what made me get into basketball. I’d love to meet him, and if I could get his autograph for my dad, it would probably make his year.
okay, so i was somewhere between 5 and 7 and i was visiting my soon to be cousins(a bunch of ritsy stuck up pains) in california. we were having a lemonade stand and they drove by. There were two other people in the back of the limo sitting beside him so there was never really any physical contact or anything. at the time, i didn’t quite realize who he was, so i wasn’t that excited, but man, if i would have seen him a few years later, i probably would have fainted
i fall in love with basketball from the first day i watch he play. the greatest player ever!!
it was 1988 between my Jr & Sr. year of highschool and I was at some school convention in cincinnatti and they were having the allstar game there at the same time. the palce was crawling with celebrities. This was really towards the begining of his career but we mobbed him like the gang of school girls we were and he was so nice to put up with all of our screaming and nonsense and stick around to sign autographs.
