A story about Angela Yvonne Davis
I read her autobiography. She is very interesting.
Well, I had the emotion and the honor of meeting Angela Davis in 1973 at an american “club” in East-Berlin (former GDR). It was a kind of a party of american refugees. Most were desertors or drafters from the Vietnam war. She just been befreed from jail after a world-wide campaign claiming for a freedom- that I took active part in both in Holland and Sweden. It was during the 10th World Youth Festival (July 28 to August 5). She made a profound impression on me still lasting to the day of to-day. I found her so pretty! Although I felt somehow ashamed I went forward an shaked her hand. Together with her Jarvis Tynner and Angela’s syster(allthough I can’t remember her name). They were for me real patriots !
I was privileged to hear her speak and share a meal with her afterward a few years ago.
Ohmigoodness….I love Angela Davis!!! She is screams “I’m a woman, hear me roar!” And that fro…c’mon folx. Can’t nothin’ touch that. She’s a heroine of not only the 1960’s, but today as well. If only Black women today were still as liberated as back then.
Have seen her speak on several occasions and would like to know what she’s doing today.
