Billy Corgan (placeholder)

I have now seen him (and enjoyed every second of it, truly), but to meet him… Oh boy n__n”
I probably wouldn’t have anything to say to him, though – I’d just stare at him and make whimpering sounds. Maybe with some time and maturing I’ll think of something smart to tell Mr. Corgan.

So I didn’t technically meet Billy Corgan in the traditional sense. I worked at a Landmark Theater in Highland Park, IL the last two years I was in high school. For those of you that follow his life, you may know that he had bought a house there for some time. Naturally he decided to come to our theater on opening weekend of Fahrenheit 9/11. I was on door duty since the movie was in three different places and because people choose not to read signs it was my job to direct traffic. As I’m letting people in, up comes Billy in all his bald-headed, mustachioed glory. And just as he’s getting to the door this old guy slaps him on the back and says “is this the smashing pumpkin?” to which Mr. Corgan replies, “not anymore”.

I was pretty tempted to tell him his poetry was awful, but didn’t because I was at work and that would be mean. Not to say that it isn’t true though…

I saw Billy at a Pumpkins concert in Toronto just a few weeks ago—he/it was beautiful. It was fantastic, in the most “fantasy” (i.e. otherwordly) sense of the word. The experience reverberated throughout my body every second of the concert. I highly recommend seeing them if you get the chance :)

I grew up with the voice of B.Corgan listening once and again to Adore wich is my fav album and it marked a really heavy period of my life, He’s great!

Billy captured my interest when I was 13 years old. I was into Rap and R&B at that time. I was watching Mtv and caught the Today video and I was mesmerized by his voice and his presence on the tv screen. I was a fan that day and his music influenced me and has been the sountrack of my life. My mom surprised me and brother in ‘96 with tickets to a Pumpkins show at the Arrowhead Pond and it was an amazing experience. She didn’t have a car at the time so she took three buses to buy the tickets which made the event a little sweeter in retrospect. I saw Billy in his Zwan era in San Francisco and Billy’s solo show in S.F. as well. He’s always great live and I’m looking forward to seeing him again soon with the Pumpkins reunion. I told myself when I was young that someday I would meet him so i’m hoping that will happen someday, just to say hi!

He’s a brilliant singer/song writer/musician. And he’s good looking, interesting person.

May be seeing smashing pumpkins live soon, hope i can meet him.

He has written songs that have literally changed my life. i know that sounds cliche but it is the truth. The Smashing Pumpkins were the first band i listened to on my own…away from the influence of my parent. It was the first CD i ever bought.

I have been close to seening the pumpkins live a couple of times but i have never made it. When the renuion comes along i will for sure make it.

My Love of the music has not wavered in the slightest. I thought it was only the Smashing Pumpkins but it wasn’t it is Billy and the way he can touch me (emoitionally…pervs LOL) with the words he writes…i have ALL the Pumpkins albums, and ZWAN and his solo work (but i have no other pumpkins’ members’ solo work)

i honestly respect him as an artist and musician.

It would be a thrill to meet him in person.

He’s an awesome musician who was a staple of my formative years.

Saw him in Chicago at the blackhawk’s arena in November 2000 for their farewell tour. Zwan was cool, but I really hope the pumpkins get back together soon.

I met him summer 1997 in Chicago, when the Smashing Pumpkins played undercover at the Double Door in Wicker Park.
