I’d like to share what I admire about Maggie Gyllenhaal. She appears to be a very down to Earth woman that loves life and supports her family, first and foremost. This is a quality that I too possess. She has not let the negative side of fame that comes along with being an A-List actress suck her into a downward spiral. Something we’ve seen all too much as of late with these younger, more naive A-Listers. The best part in my opinion is, as stated above, family, she is now a Mom! From what it looks to me, she’s a damn good one too! I’ve seen photos of her with her family during outings. Even though my observation is solely based upon photos by the sometimes dreaded paparazzi, it’s still what I can deem a positive observation. As far as her career is concerned, I admire her variety in her choices in film roles she’s starred. I especially enjoyed her role in ‘The Secretary.’ I love how Maggie really drew me into her character. I cannot totally relate to the darkness of the character she played, but I can relate to the emotion and determination she put forth to prove her love for another person to earn the reward. Regardless of the S/M format of the movie, it was well scripted, and the scene where she is taken from the chair and laid out upon the grass and then meticulously pampered is breath-taking. I just enjoy her and Jake’s amazing ability to envelop and become their character. They really bring the person they’re portraying to life so you can really feel the character and, maybe even relate to them in some sense. I would love to meet her and I would also love to meet her brother, ‘Uncle’ Jake. They are both people in the film industry that have worked very hard and have avoided becoming hardened or callous by the industry. They are great people from what I’ve read and seen in imagery. If the real Maggie Gyllenhaal were ever to lay her eyes upon this, I would like to take this opportunity while I have your attention to Congratulate you on all your accomplishments and wish you the absolute best in your life. Since I’m Irish, “May you always be blessed with a coin in your pocket and the wind at your back.” Erin Go Braugh!
