Augusten Burroughs (placeholder)

Despite all the tragedies in his life, he manages to continue looking at life with a positive attitude. Also, he’s amazingly brilliant, honest, and funny.

He appeared at the theatre where I work, we met him afterwards in the lobby where he was signing books. He signed our copies of all his books. He was very sweet and complied with my teenage daughter’s request to give him a hug. Very interesting storyteller, and fun-ny!

I think we should meet ‘cause we can find what to talk about

I think Augusten should meet me because we had a nearly identical childhood (sort of f**d up, but I wouldn’t change a thing). Actually, we have the same name (Come on, Augusten, what’s wrong with the real thing?) we were born 2 months and 2 days apart, and I had a hard time watching my mom get ready to go out or to work every day. I bought the soundtrack and was instantly transported back to the days when my oldest brother would blast his 8 track player to the same music when I was trying to go to sleep…we shared a bedroom, so the only way I could drown it out was to turn on a box fan right in front of my bed on high & drift off to a Thin Lizzie induced slumber. It was fun. I think he would like to meet me.

I relate better with him then any otehr writer.

I would like to tell him how much he has touched my life through his writing, and how glad I am that he has been so successful. I honestly can’t think of anyone more deserving of what he has now.

I love everysingle one of his books, I think his life has been amazing, and I’d love to talk to him about it
