The last time I saw B.B. King
was when he played Summer Nights at the Pier in Seattle. My husband and I got to meet him personally on his tour bus after the concert was over. He is a really Genuine person. We sat with him & talked for about 15 mins & he gave me a long stem rose. His road manager was a really nice guy as well, looks just like Tom Selleck!
How I met B.B. King
My dad got free tickets to see BB thru the airline which he frequently travels. On a whim, we went behind the venue afterwards and found that he was talking to people before leaving. I waited and finally, while sitting in the limo, he beckoned me over to sign my program from the evening. I was only in 5th or 6th grade but over the years, it’s been an amazing realization that I by chance met an unbelievably talented legend.
Why I want to meet B.B. King
My husband who is a musician/guitar player with the BB King playing style met Mr. King personally in Las Vegas some years ago and has attended some of his performances. He is a strong promoter of BB King’s music. We will be celebrating my husband’s 55th birthday on August 12, 2006 as a surprise to him. I would like to invite Mr. King to this celebration and my husband would be totally astounded if he was to show up. We live in Stockton, California. The celebration will be a friends and family picnic in honor of my husband’s birthday. What are the possibilities of Mr. King attending. If that isn’t likely, please ask Mr. King to send a personal birthday wish and possibly a complimentary back stage pass to one of his performances. Having him at the celebration would be AWESOME!!! How I met B.B. King
He played a private banquet in New Orleans for the USDMA in the mid-1990s. I was on their International Advisory Board at the time. He and Lucile tore the place up. I only shook his hand, but to touch a hand that makes music like his…that’s an inspiring moment.
