Isaac Brock (placeholder)

Ive met Issac twice actually and now we are on a first name basis.

I remember the first time I even heard their music…it was completley by mistake. I woke up and i heard “shit luck” playing on my friends sisters radio hah….and im like wow whos she listening to??...she goes “idk some band Modest Mouse” every since then i loved them! Isaac Brock’s music brought me up when I was down….so yeah…it’d be nice to meet someone so influential to me.

I saw Modest Mouse in Oklahoma City when I was in 10th grade. The venue kinda sucked and the sound guy wasn’t doing a very good job, so this was pretty upsetting to Isaac. He kept yelling for them to fix the sound and I guess the sound guy wasn’t doing a good enough job, so what does he do? He pulls out a knife and cuts his arm 3x on stage. It was one of the most dramatic things I’ve ever seen on stage.
And frankly,
I didn’t hate it.

I met Isaac Brock in Atlantic City after a show at the Borgata. Definetley the best MM show I have seen. After the show and much gambling(i won $1000). We bumped into Isaac. He advised us not to spend our winnings on a $500 hotel room after revealing to my boyfriend and myself that he is actually 264 years old. Well I am not one to turn down the advise of a wise old sage, so we slept in the car and blew our money on booze and food when we got home!!! No pics no autographs…thats not my style. It was more like making a new friend than meeting a rockstar!

I have met him twice so far, both times at the All Tomorrow’s Parties festivals in Long Beach, California. The first time I had had a backstage pass and had gotten all my friends in. They saw him in his trailer and got scared, and I was the only one with the guts to go up to him. He invited us in, and we ended up chatting a while, gettings things signed, and taking gangsta pictures. The second time I didn’t have a backstage pass, but he happened to walk by while all my friends were around. We caught him and started talking a while. My friend took a picture while we were talking and he got mock angry and was going to leave, but then he asked us for a cigarette. I mentioned a friend of mine who, if he was there, would roll him the best cigarette he’s had. Lo and behold, said friend is suddenly right behind me and is already offering to make one. We talk longer, and a line is forming behind us to get the chance to talk to him. We take a few pictures, and he takes off into the night. THE END.
