While the Beatles taught me what good songwriting and ensemble playing was all about, hearing Eric Clapton in Cream was the first time I really appreciated great guitar playing. A huge influence on my guitar playing. My dad taught me ‘Sunshine of Your Love’, one of the greatest rock riffs ever and a jam staple.

Eric Clapton is God. That’s about it. I got to see him at Crossroads his Guitar Festival in Chicago and it was amazing. Honestly it was beyond that even. My aunts are hardcore Clapton fans too, I’ve only been a fan for a few years now, they’ve got about 20 years on me. I’d kill a man to meet God himself!
He can wail on a guitar and sing some blues for your aZZ…..I have seen him in concert twice…it was an experience I will never ever forget
I’ve seen him in concert and he is simply amazing. How incredibly wonderful to do something you truly enjoy, convey such passion and emotion and have an outlet in which to express yourself in front of millions of adoring fans of all ages, races and backgrounds. He holds everyone in the palm of his hand as he effortlessly takes control of a simple guitar and makes magic as it comes to life! What an incredible feeling to be able to just “be” yourself…and everyone in the world “get it”!
Walked next to him on the sidewalk in london. I suppose I was near his flat. Said Hi. :)
He strikes me as a beautiful soul, who has gone through incredible pain and sadness as well as joy…
All of it all pours through from his heart and straight into his guitar.
The reasons are obvious: he seems to be a great person with a warm heart, he’s written tons of excellent music and besides, he’s God!
