Ball of wool with glasses. :-)

No seriously: Jeff is musician and producer. And he is one of the best in both categories.

Why I admire Jeff Lynne

Jeff Lynn is easily one of hte best songwrister/guitarist/singer/producers around today. His vocal range is just amazing for a male and his guitar work is exelent. He hasinspired me to do so many things and is the reason i’ve stuck at music for this long even when it seems like i’m getting no where. I think he is someone that is admied musically by all fellow musicians how come across him. ELO - Out of hte BLue was the first slbum my mum bought me and I’ve just got an Original Vinyl copy too.

Why I want to meet Jeff Lynne

Jeff Lynne is an incredibly talented songwriter/producer also with a very sweet voice. I love the ingenious classically influenced strings in many of the elo songs of the 70’s. As a volinist myself I really love playing the violin parts paticularly in Sweet Talkin’ Woman, I would have loved to be in his band but I would have been too young back then. Would be a dream come true to play some session fiddle for him! Would love to meet him to ask him how he came up with all those incredible songs! Also to thank him for making all that lovely music that always makes me feel great and picks me up in times of sorrow. I would also like to tell him I think he is very gorgeous!

Why I admire Jeff Lynne

He seems like a very “down to earth” kind of guy. He’s not a typical rockstar, just like a bloke you want to have a pint with.

All of his music is so incredible starting with The Idle Race, through ELO, and all of his solo stuff and his production work with George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, et. al. Even when he’s not really trying (“Balance of Power”, anyone?) he still writes killer songs – “Getting To The Point” rips my heart out.

When I was younger, I grew my hair out exactly like Jeff’s, but I wasn’t allowed to have a beard in school. When I got older, I grew the beard, but now my hair looks more like Phil Collins!

Jeff’s soft-spoken manner and self-effacing personality belie the true genius hiding behind those shades!

Jeff, you are the MAN! Thanks for all the brilliant music you’ve given us!!

A story about Jeff Lynne

Jeff Lynne has been into music longer than I’ve been on this earth. I first found him in Electric Light Orchestra after the album “Discovery” was issued. It was literally the 3rd album I ever owned right after Queen – A Day at the Races and The Eagles – Hotel California. And then “A New World’s Record” came out and everybody heard his genius. I had to backtrack to find the other groups he’s been in like The Move and Idle Race and move forward for The Traveling Wilbury’s and his solo work, but each time his songs always have touched me.

Why I want to meet Jeff Lynne

Because I want to thank him for the joy he has brought to my life with his music.
