Lieutenant Commander Geordi LaForge, U.S.S Enterprise

He was born in 2335 to a family of Starfleet officers. He was blind since birth. He received his V.I.S.O.R. (Visual Instrument and Sensory Organ Replacement) at the age of 5, enabling him to see a much broader range of electromagnetic radiation than most humans, including the “visible” spectrum but also extending into infrared and radio wavelengths. He entered Starfleet Academy at age 18 in 2353 and he in 2357. He served as shuttle pilot on the Jovian Run. He also served aboard U.S.S. Victory as ensign. He transferred to U.S.S. Enterprise-D, served as flight controller (2364).

He was promoted to lieutenant in 2365 and he became chief engineer of U.S.S. Enterprise-D Geordi has a strong ability with languages. He received electronic ocular implants and discontinued use of V.I.S.O.R.
