The last time I saw Ram Dass
Mr. Alpert (Ram Dass) spoke at the Community Church in Boston in the 80s, and was a real card. He was sitting in the audience while people were getting restless, and then sauntered up to the stage, where he spoke and drank deep the questions that were asked of him.
His book, “Be Here Now” remains a classic of 60s spiritual hipness.
Alpert’s bio is not unlike that of Dr. Leary, who, I believe, was a mentor.
