How I met James Surowiecki
I saw Surowiecki give a talk about “The Wisdom of Crowds” this past weekend at SXSW Interactive. He had a booksigning afterward, and when it was my turn in line, I complimented him on his session. He glanced at my nametag and, recognizing the company name, mentioned that he was dating someone who works there. Since the person in question works in another division of the company and I’ve never met her, all I could think to do at the time was awkwardly say something along the lines of, “Oh, hey. Cool.”
