Her music is amazing, her voice is amazing, and her style is amazing. She is the person who inspired me to get into singing and songwriting.
She’s pretty much my idol.
She has a haunting voice. I first heard her when watching Garden State and I’ve been hooked since! I even have her on Myspace.
Back in May, my sweetie and I went to see Imogen perform live in Boulder’s cozy but acoustically great Fox Theater. We stayed afterward to meet her…
Though she must have been exhausted from a very energetic and captivating performance (complete with encores) in which she personally recreated almost every note of her sonically-intensive edgy poptronica album Speak For Yourself using a variety of electronic gear and her gorgeous voice, she still made time to greet everyone who’d waited with a genuine smile and a hug.
I gave her a DVD of my stage production as a sort of thank you for her inspiration, and she wanted to know what it was all about and said she looked forward to watching it. I doubt she has any time to, but I thought that was very sweet.
She does all of that by herself?? That’s amazing!!!! Her music is very beautiful, something I can dance around to while drying my hair. I love it!
We’ll be checking Imogen out in concert for the first time next week in Boulder, and I am pretty sure my sweetie will be determined to have her sign something for his frabjous collection of signed-things-from-artists-of-substance. I have really been moved by much of both Imogen’s latest solo effort and her work co-creating the Frou Frou record. Even her earlier solo stuff from years ago reveals interesting, sort of raw hints at where she’s now ended up musically.
Definitely looking forward to seeing her perform live, and it’s always great to meet a fellow singer/songwriter.
There is nothing I can say to sum up how amazing Imogen Heap is. I found her through listening to Frou Frou and then I listened to her solo albums and I just can’t seem to put them down. Her voice is angelic and it is fantastic and mind-boggling how talented she is on the piano, mbira, and electronic machines she plays. The electronics add different moods and characters to her already astounding voice. I have searched and searched for other artists like her but the electonica I found just doesn’t put me in the same mood as hers. Her music is more of a mix between electronica and ambient with a little bit of rave. But I prefer not to put music into classes just for the sake of ease in conversation. I just hope I can see her in concert before I die. Anyone that has heard her and loves her knows that she is one of a kind. When I listen to her I am amazed by the intricacies within tones or beats or harmonies within each note and I notice something different everytime. It’s almost like you can feel her vision in music deep in your heart and mind taking you on a rollercoaster of emotions that brings you back into the station of serenity. Her music makes my soul happy. It’s hard to believe one person can make me feel this way but she does with her voice, her lyrics, her artistry on a canvas of notes, her talent, the landscape she paints or stories she writes with the subtle changes in music, her look and persona, her sryle, her mannerisms and emotions, her business savvy, her womanhood, her heart and her being. I thank her for sharing that part of her self with the world.
i saw imogen in concert last week and she was totally amazing! an inspiration to watch and listen to…
