A story about Bruce Cockburn
He suggested I take up dog sledding. We’d both had a bit of wine …
canadian singer-songwriter, fabulous guitarist; one of the most poetic of writers around. powerful, passionate, genuine. one of the very few artists who can “go political” and not sound forced or strident. a christian, but not the bible-thumper type; more the “prince of peace” and care for the needy type. another great artist who is just getting better and better.
best albums are “dart to the heart” and “the charity of night”.
I met him at pearson airport in toronto about 1999. his musical equipment was being held up in customs. he was quite calm about the whole thing, very gracious.
Bruce is a great musician with a lot of thought provoking ideas. He writes musical pictures better than anyone one else I know. He makes me think deeper when I listen to his music. All The Diamonds and Why Don’t we Celebrate are just a couple of songs that are in my all time top favorites.
