Why I want to meet Anthony Hopkins
He is one of my favourite actors, definitely.
He came to Caerphilly in South Wales to unveil a statue of Tommy Cooper. The Mothership and I went to see him and then after the unveiling made our way up to the entrance of the castle, where AH would be eating with the Tommy Cooper Society. He came up to the castle entrance in his Merc people carrier and slowed to sign autographs and shake hands for a minute or two. The Mothership managed to shake his hand and get him to sign her notebook. He was really gracious and it was just so great for a real A-Lister to hit our part of Wales. He even wore a daffodil! Awesome!
Everything he says about acting resonates with me. I could listen to him all day. I drink up advice about acting: the craft, the learning of it, the myths of it. He’s been doing it for as long as I’ve been alive.
He’s my favorite. I would like to meet him for tea and just listen to him talk all afternoon.
He is almost my favourite actor,I like his performance in”silence of the lamb”and”lengend of the fall”,especially the scene when he stands in the cage ,his eyes reminds me of the leopard,he is a great actor and also a great man.
When I watched the movie “The Edge”.I realize that he is like my father. In that movie he acts very smart and perfect. In this way I respect him so much.
I met Anthony hopkins around the same time I met john hurt and ian holm. I was very new to working in the west end, and had a job at 20th Century fox and often delivered mail around the west end. I saw and spoke to Anthony Hopkins coming out of the old bfi offices.
I was a huge fan of magic and the elephant man.. and he was thrilled wiht those films so was really nice to talk to.. he told me about a film he was doing that he thought would be really good and i should see it.. that film was ‘silence of the lambs’..
